Meet the Cast of “Raisin in the Sun”: Alan Picard

Alan PicardAlan Picard will be playing Karl Lindner in The Actors’ Group production of A Raisin in the Sun, by Lorraine Hansberry.

About Alan:

Alan was last onstage at TAG in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom as Irvin, the legendary blues singer’s manager. Ma Rainey was the final installment of ten August Wilson plays in the “Century Cycle,” and it put The Actors’ Group in select company as one of few theatres in the country to stage all ten shows.  Also, It was one of three TAG productions from the 2014-15 season to receive Po’okela Awards for Overall Play, along with Defiance and Superior Donuts. Alan appeared most recently as Dr. Spivey in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, at MVT. Previous roles at TAG include Reverend Tooker in Cat On a Hot Tin Roof and Pastor Manders in Ghosts, both Po’okela recipients for Overall Play. Other favorite roles include Dr. Dysart in Equus, Mitch in A Streetcar Named Desire and Joe Horn in Rain, at KCC; Avram the Bookseller  in Fiddler On the Roof and Charlie in Aloha Rosie’s, at HPU; and multiple characters in Annie at ACT and The Joy Luck Club at DHT. Alan is grateful for this opportunity to be part pf this TAG re-staging of Lorraine Hansberry’s classic play, and honored to work with this superb cast and crew.
