Meet the Cast: Alex Monti Fox as Jerry

Alex Monti Fox

Aloha Friends of TAG! There is a lot to coordinate when your theater is doing two plays, even if they are only one acts! And so, we weren’t able to get interviews with all of our actors, but I do want to introduce you to Alex Monti Fox. Alex is relatively new to Hawaii and this is his first show at TAG.  We are delighted to have him join us.

Alex will be playing Jerry in The Zoo Story.

A malihini by way of New York, Seattle and Los Angeles, Alex is happy to be making his local theatre debut with The Zoo Story. Previously, Alex appeared in the west coast premiere productions of Eric Bogosian’s Suburbia, Mac Wellman’s Hypatia: The Divine Algebra, Mark Ravenhill’s Faust (Faust Is Dead), Joanna Laurens’ The Three Birds, and Mikhail Bulgakov’s Black Snow. Other selected stage credits include Julius Caesar, MacbethThe Elephant Man, Five Beauties: Tennessee Williams,  The Illusion, The SeagullSoon My WorkMother Courage and Her Children, and The Good Woman of Setzuan. Additionally, Alex has written and performed a fair amount of original work, notably his solo play Back To One, which premiered in Los Angeles in 2010, and the underground cult sketch musical variety show Another Showcase Showdown (co-created with filmmaker David Fickas), which ran for a decade in LA, and was an official selection of the 2002 U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen. Screen acting credits include the indie films Dirty, A Friend, Treading Water, and Frank’s Book. TV & Web credits include: The After Work Special (VH1), I Hate My 30s (VH1), XYZ Minute  (ABC Family), The Iceman Chronicles (Fox TV Studios), Keller & Sullivan (Funny Or Die), Mr. Robinson’s Driving School (MSN), Dramatic Spam and Suitemates (Drama 3/4). Alex has an MFA in Acting from the University of Washington and a BA from USC. He’d like to thank his wonderful wife, Chihiro, for all of her love and support.
